The Week Before

PLAN YOUR DAY

Make sure you don’t have any scheduling conflicts leading up to or right after your session. Feelings of stress and anxiety can show up in your photos, so try your best to have a relaxed day. If you’re planning on having your hair done, make sure to do this the day of and not the night before so that it is fresh and exactly how you want it.

PICK A SETTING

Photos taken in your workplace are a great way to highlight both you and your space. If you’re not sure where would be the best spot in your office to set up for your photos, we can help you pick! Just make sure your place is tidy so that there’s nothing too distracting in the background that could take away from you. If you’d prefer a solid white or black background for your picture, come visit us at our studio located in Kleinburg!

EVALUATE YOUR CLOTHING OPTIONS

If you plan to come to our studio, your photos will be taken on both a black and a white backdrop. Be sure to bring multiple clothing options for each background that you feel comfortable in. We always recommend solid coloured professional clothing and to generally avoid any logos or distracting patterns. At our studio, you will be able to change outfits in a private bathroom with a full-length mirror.

The Day Before

GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP

Try to get some good sleep before your big day. We will edit out any dark circles for you upon request, but the true secret to looking rested is to actually be rested!

KNOW YOURSELF

Look at past photos of yourself and figure out what about them that you like and dislike. Are you wearing a certain colour or are you posed in a certain way? Make mental notes of this and if you’d like, bring in a few references to show us so we can make sure to get you looking your very best. If you’re not sure, we will always lead and suggest poses that we think will highlight your best features and have you looking natural and professional, as well.

The Day Of

CHECK YOURSELF

Spend a few minutes collecting yourself once you get here. Check your hair for any pieces out of place, and check your face for shine. Touch up with makeup or oil blotting pads so that our studio flash doesn’t reflect off sweaty spots on your skin. If you wear glasses, make sure that they are clean and are not blue-light blocking or have “transitions lesnes” as these will not show up well in your photos.

RELAX

Listen to your favourite music on your way here and get yourself into a good mood! Feeling like you are the centre of attention is a little weird sometimes, but remember that at the end of the day, these are YOUR photos, so just be yourself and show off your best smile! You are going to look great!
